Massey Ferguson Sub-Compact Tractors

The Sub-Compact Tractors That Can!

Our customers have been really pleased with the 1700 series sub-compact tractors from Massey. These small, affordable tractors work hard and offer some of the options you usually find on larger machines, like a backhoe and front end loader.

One of the most popular is the GC1723EB (the backhoe model). This tractor is just about perfect for properties of five acres or less, mountain properties, hunting acreages, snow removal businesses, and even sprinkler system businesses and landscapers. The seating is comfortable, and the controls and pedals will be very familiar to anyone who's used a ride-on lawn tractor.

New Features Outshine the Competitors' Sub-Compacts

Some of our new features of this series outshine a lot of the competitors in the compact and sub-compact tractor market. A skid steer quick attach front end loader replaces the old pin-on loaders. This design allows you to put anything on this loader that a skid steer would attach. It's fast and easy, with levers that quickly allow you to attach your bucket pallet forks, snow pushers, or whatever you desire. This feature will be a huge help during the life of the tractor, and will make your work hours around the property much easier!

Another nice feature of these Massey Ferguson tractors is the full metal hood. A lot of competitors build the hood out of plastic on sub compacts, but the metal hood adds to the life of the tractor. And under the hood, a rear-facing radiator pushes the hot air away from the operation station. A front-facing radiator pulls the fresh air from the operator position and pushes through the engine bay and out to the front. You will appreciate the difference when you're mowing in the heat of the day, because you won't have all that engine heat blowing right back at you as you work.

And even though the GC1723EB is an economy subcompact, it still comes with cruise control, side-by-side hydrostatic pedals, and a tilt steering wheel. The seat has a high back and is spring loaded, meaning you can get more work done with less fatigue.

Improvements for Comfort and More Use

In addition to all the other improvements, the GC1723EB sub-compact has the most powerful subcompact tractor backhoe on the market today. The large cylinders provide a break-out force of nearly 2500 pounds. It also has a six and a half foot dig depth. Plus, you can remove it easily with the attaching pins, and still keep your three-point mounted. That means no disassembling the three-point when you're taking the backhoe on and off.

Of course, it still has the same proven drive train, hydrostatic power steering, 2 post fixed ROPS and other popular Massey Ferguson features. This new tractor, though, also has a tilt steering column, forward and reverse foot pedal, rubber floor mat, covered storage compartment and turn signals, flashers and tail lights.
